The KCET entrance exam for Biology and Mathematics is conducted by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN). This exam is used to determine whether one is qualified to take the nursing boards in the state of California.

MATHEMATICS

ALGEBRA

Algebra is a branch of mathematics that deals with the study and use of symbols, such as x or y, to represent and solve problems. Algebra was developed by Arabic mathematicians in the 9th century CE, but it has been used for many centuries before then by ancient Egyptian and Babylonian civilizations.

Algebra is used in many areas, including engineering, physics and economics to solve real-life problems. You can use algebra to solve problems involving the number system (like addition), geometry (such as finding areas), statistics (e.g., probability) and calculus (such as differentiation).

BIOCHEMISTRY

Bio-chemistry is the study of the structure and function of biological molecules. It is concerned with the chemical composition, structure and reactions of these molecules in living organisms.

Bio-chemistry has a very important role to play in medicine as it helps us understand how living things work on a molecular level. For example, if you want to know how your body metabolizes food or produces energy from glucose then you will need to understand certain biochemical processes like glycolysis which involves many chemicals such as ATP

CELL BIOLOGY

The cell is the basic unit of life. It includes all the components needed for an organism to function, such as DNA and enzymes. Cells are also living organisms that make up all living things.

Cells can be categorized into two types: prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. Prokaryotes (such as bacteria) have no nucleus, while eukaryotes do (like humans).

The study of cells is called cell biology, which breaks down into subfields like genetics or molecular biology

Embryology is the study of the development of an embryo. An embryo is a multicellular diploid eukaryote in its earliest stage of development, from fertilization to birth (or hatching). By contrast, a fetus has developed beyond this stage but has not yet been born.

Therefore it means household management or housekeeping science. In this sense ecology deals with all the living beings in their environment including animals as well as plants; humans are also part of this ecosystem because they depend on other organisms for food and energy. Ecology can be defined as "the science which deals with interactions between organisms and their surroundings".

Molecular biology is a branch of biology that studies the structure and function of molecules and the genetic material deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Human anatomy is the study of the physical structures of the human body. It can be studied at many levels, from gross anatomy (the study of whole organs and systems), to microscopic anatomy (the examination of cells, tissues, and organs).

Human physiology is a branch of biology that studies how different organ systems work together in living organisms to maintain homeostasis. It focuses on how chemical processes within cells (such as metabolism) support life.

MICROBIOLOGY, IMMUNOLOGY and PATHOLOGY

Microbiology

Microbiology is the study of microorganisms, which are defined as any microscopic organism that can be seen only under a microscope. Microorganisms include bacteria and fungi, as well as viruses and parasites (such as worms). The study of microbiology involves learning about how these organisms cause disease in humans, how they live within us and other animals without causing disease, why some are pathogenic while others aren't, how they spread from one host to another (or across species), what treatments exist for infections caused by them and how we can use these treatments most efficiently to cure infections.

Immunology

Immunology is the study of your immune system - a collection of organs and tissues that defend your body against disease-causing microorganisms like viruses or bacteria by producing antibodies against them in order to kill them off before they multiply enough inside our bodies so as not only cause sickness but also death if left untreated long enough over time due to lackadaisical treatment efforts on behalf of patients who don't take their health seriously enough until later on down life's road when they realize too late what could have been done differently had they acted sooner rather than later after realizing something was wrong;

PHYSIOLOGY AND BIOPHYSICS/INSTRUMENTATION

Physiology is the study of how organisms function and how they interact with each other and their environment.

Biophysics is the study of the physical properties of biological systems, such as cells or tissues.

Instrumentation includes all kinds of equipment that can be used to measure or detect properties within these systems, such as microscopes and other types of microscopy devices (such as electron microscopes).
