Introduction

The career of a postgraduate in science is diverse. The doctorate degree is essential because it gives you a competitive advantage over other graduates, which helps you bag a high-paying job. A good professor can make or break your career as he/she can help you land on more lucrative projects; and if things go wrong with your professor then it will affect your future prospects as well.

Lecturer

Lecturers are the backbone of the university. They teach students, provide support for their research and carry out administrative tasks.

They usually have a PhD in a relevant field and may also have an additional qualification such as an advanced MSc or DPhil.

Lecturers can be promoted to senior lecturer, associate professor or professor depending on how many years they've worked at the university already.

Research Associate

You might be thinking that this is a great position to get into if you're interested in doing research. After all, it requires a PhD and pays well! But there are some things to consider before applying for this job:

Research associates are usually required to publish their findings. This means writing papers and articles about your work in scientific journals, which can take years of effort on your part. If you don't have time for that or want more money than the hourly rate will offer (and why wouldn't you?), then this might not be the right path for you.

Research associates usually work on teams at universities or research institutions with similar goals as their own project—so if yours doesn't match up exactly with theirs, then maybe it's best not to go through with it after all!

Lecturers are often the first point of contact for students. They prepare courses, mark assignments and give feedback on essays. Lecturers also advise PhD students on their research project and provide support if they have any problems with their supervisor.

Scientist

A scientist is an individual who uses the scientific method to investigate questions and solve problems. Scientists use their knowledge and skills to discover new information about the world around them, often in order to solve real-world problems such as improving health or finding solutions for energy issues.

Scientists have many different career paths depending on their interests, but most start out by earning a bachelor's degree in science (BSc) or engineering (BEng). After receiving their undergraduate degrees, scientists can choose from several different career paths:

Research scientist - conducts research using scientific methods and tools; may conduct experiments or perform field studies

Postdoctoral researcher - works under a mentor for one year before becoming a member of another department within your employer’s organization; often required before obtaining tenure at universities

Assistant professor – teaches undergraduate courses while working towards tenure

Assistant Professor

A professor is a person who has completed a PhD and has been able to publish at least one article. They usually have experience as an assistant professor. In order to become an assistant professor, you must have:

A PhD from an accredited institution (this means that your school has verified that you met all of its requirements)

Teaching experience (and preferably some publications)

The work is very demanding, and you won't have much time for anything else. There are also many other factors to consider when choosing your career path: whether or not you want to go back to school (which can take several years), whether or not you have a PhD already (if so, then why would you need one?), and if this position fits in with your long-term goalsA letter of recommendation from a respected scholar in your field An interview with the department chair
Once you have these things, you can apply for an assistant professorship. Your application will be reviewed by the department’s faculty and, if they decide that you are qualified, they will offer you a position..

Choosing the right career path is important. It can be difficult to know what to do with your life, and many people find themselves in a rut where they don't feel fulfilled. That's why I think it's vitally important for anyone interested in science or math—or any other type of field—to consider whether there might be some sort of program at school designed specifically around their interests before going off into the world unprepared!

You can find many programs designed specifically for students interested in science or math. These programs are often called magnet schools and allow students to focus on a specific discipline while taking classes with other people who share their interests.

Conclusion

After the MCA, one of the most important decision will be to choose the career path. This is because it will determine how much money you can make and what kind of job you get. There are many options in the market with many different opportunities like lecturing, research associate or scientist. You have to decide which option suits you best so that you can take advantage of your skills and knowledge
