The University Grants Commission (UGC) is India's higher education regulator, established in 1956 by the UGC Act. The National Eligibility Test (NET) is a national level entrance examination conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). It tests the basic minimum knowledge of candidates who want to pursue their career as Assistant Professors in colleges and universities across India. The questions are designed to test your ability to apply your knowledge of the subject to solve problems in a way that is consistent with the demands of academic life. The topics covered are: Teaching Aptitude; Teaching Practices; Teaching Methods; Classroom Management; Student-Centered Learning Strategies; Learning Styles and Assessment Techniques for EFL / ESL/ ELT teachers

Research Aptitude – This section tests your ability to generate ideas in new situations by identifying relevant information from various sources including books articles journals etc., synthesising them logically into a coherent argument or report on a specific topic related with education field like e-learning technologies etc..

Reading Comprehension – This section measures whether you have acquired skills in reading comprehension at an advanced level. It consists of passages from published works such as newspapers reports magazines articles handbooks etc., which will be presented orally by the examiner (a native speaker)

Paper 2 is based on the subject chosen by the candidate at the time of application. There are a total of 100 questions carrying 2 marks each for this paper.
