Full Syllabus Of ICAR Exams.

Introduction

ICAR Exams are conducted by the ICAR and are designed to test the knowledge of scientists who wish to become researchers. The exam is basically a written test and comprises of two papers, one in Paper 1 and other in Paper 2.

What is ICAR?

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is a premier research organization in India. It was established on 11th March 1944 as the "Indian Agricultural Research Institute" by an Act of Parliament and came into being with the objective to conduct research for development, extension and promotion of agriculture in India.

The focus areas include plant breeding and genetics, molecular biology & biotechnology, plant pathogen resistance management through molecular markers; crop physiology & environment; production systems including resource management; agro-economics & rural development etc.,

ICAR has its headquarters at New Delhi with additional regional offices at Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Patna (Bihar) etc..

How to Apply for ICAR Exams?

Apply online. You can apply for ICAR Exams through the official website of ICAR.

Apply at least 30 days before the exam date by clicking on ‘Apply Now’ button on the home page of their official website.

You will be redirected to a new page where you need to fill in all your details like First Name, Last Name and Email Ids etc., which are compulsory for everyone applying for ICAR Exams 2020-2021 session (2020-2021).

After filling all these fields correctly, click on Next Step option and submit it again with payment of application fee mentioned in that section as well as submit your application form using given links provided below:

Exam Centres and Dates of ICAR Paper 1 and 2.

ICAR Paper 1 and 2 are conducted in different cities. The exams are held on different days, with the first one being held on April 15th and second one being held on May 3rd.

. Age Limit: The maximum age for appearing ICAR exam is 25 years as on 31st January of the year in which the examination is being heldICAR Papers 1 and 2 are held in different cities. Candidates can choose their exam centre from the list of centres provided by ICAR. The last date to apply for these exams is March 15th and the result will be announced on May 31st..

Eligibility Criteria for ICAR Papers

Age limit: The maximum age for appearing in ICAR exams is 25 years.

Qualification: The candidates should have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination from any recognized board and passed with at least 50% marks in each subject, which would be an upper-primary pass certificate from the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) or state board as applicable.

Experience: Candidates must have at least three years experience in agriculture field prior to applying for ICAR Exams 2019, provided that it does not include any work related towards agriculture or agriculture related activities such as farming and gardening etc., during the last 3 years before applying for ICAR Exams 2019; otherwise he/she shall be disqualified from appearing in these examinations

The ICAR is an autonomous body under the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Government of India. It was established in 1962 by an Act passed by Parliament to conduct research on Indian agriculture, its productivity and issues related to rural development. The organisation has a network of more than 450 scientific stations across India and abroad (with over 1 lakh scientists).

ICAR is governed by a Board of Management, consisting of the Minister in charge of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare as Chairman, the Chief Ministers/Vice-Chancellors of agriculture universities in India as Members and eminent scientists as Life Members. The Director General is the head of ICARIt has cooperation programmes with countries like Australia, Brazil, China, Cuba, France, Germany and the United States. It also works in collaboration with several international organisations such as the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), Asian Development Bank (ADB) and others.

ICAR is involved in research on a wide range of topics including agricultural mechanisation, farm machinery technology and design; soil conservation and management; crop production practices such as irrigation, fertilisers and pesticides; livestock development including poultry farming.

Conclusion

ICAR is a government-run examination scheme designed to evaluate the aptitude of candidates for various jobs. It was established in 1962, and the first two stages were held in 1968 and 1969. The third and fourth stages took place later in 1975 and 1977 respectively. Since then all five stages have been conducted yearly by State Educational Institutions (SEIs).
