CEED is a common entrance exam for design-related courses. It is a national programme that was established in 1949. The first CEND test was held in January 1950, and it has been conducted every year since then. The last date for registration of students appearing in the CEED 2020 examination is on 31 December 2019 (14 days prior to the commencement date) while those who wish to appear can register from 1 January 2020 onwards by paying Rs. 50000/- as first installment towards exam fee & Rs/ ticket as second installment towards exam fees (both due on 31st Dec 2020).

COMMON ENTRANCE EXAM FOR DESIGN 2020 (CEED)
CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design) is a common entrance test for admission to various engineering and architecture courses offered by AICTE. It is conducted by AICTE in the month of May every year.

The syllabus covers all the branches of engineering and architecture such as civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics & telecommunication etc..

A candidate has to pass CEED with minimum 50% marks out of 100 marks available in order to get admission into any course offered by NID or any other institute affiliated with NID.

Programme Level
CEED has been designed as a four-year undergraduate degree programme. The first year of the programme is common for all students.

The curriculum is divided into three modules, each having a minimum of 200 hours of lectures and tutorials, 100 hours of practicals and 50 hours of research project (project work).

Admission Requirements
The admission requirements for the Common Entrance Examination for Design 2020 are as follows:

Students must have completed at least 12 years of schooling and attained a minimum score in Class 10 or equivalent examinations.

They must be between 16 and 22 years of age on 31st March 2020, i.e., they have reached their majority by that date.

They should have passed at least one subject from Hindi or English language subjects, Maths/Physics / Chemistry subjects with Mathematics being taken up first in order not to be left behind by any other student who may appear for the examination later on after having missed out on it due to lack of worthwhile preparation time (i).e., students should not miss out on an opportunity because they hadn't studied well enough beforehand - instead try harder!
