Introduction

There is a massive demand for competent and qualified nursing professionals in India and abroad. In this article, we will be discussing nursing courses after 12th Science (Biology).

B.Sc. Nursing

B.Sc. Nursing is the basic degree course in nursing. This course is a four-year program that prepares students for entry into the nursing profession and provides them with knowledge, skills and attitudes to practice as professional nurses. Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing

A post basic B.Sc. Nursing course is a two year course that is offered by various colleges and universities in India. The course is offered as a combination of theory and practicals and divided into three semesters:

Semester I: This semester covers introductory topics including principles of nursing, biological sciences, psychological aspects of nursing, community health care etc., along with some clinical practice based assignments related to your specialization area or hospital setting where you are working as an Assistant Nurse (AN) or Junior Nurse (YN). You will be encouraged to participate in seminars/seminars organized by the college authorities on topical issues related to healthcare. You will also attend workshops conducted by professionals from industry/government sector etc., who have vast experience working in areas like patient care management; infection control etc.. These workshops help you gain knowledge about new techniques being implemented by hospitals these days which can be used effectively within your workplace environment

Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM)

The Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) is a two-year diploma course. It is taught in colleges and institutes affiliated to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The GNM programme is meant for those who want to pursue post graduate studies in nursing or midwifery and have already completed their BSc degree in any stream of science or arts.

Certified Nurses Aid (CNA)

Certified Nurses Aid (CNA) is a basic level nursing course for people who want to work in a hospital or clinic. It is a short term course that can be completed in a few months.

CNA helps people get jobs as nurses, which is an important part of their career as these jobs are very sought after and require lots of skills and experience.

Diploma in Auxiliary Nurse Midwives Course

The course is a 3-year diploma course and it is considered equivalent to BSc Nursing degree. This course is offered by various government and private institutions in India. You can get a job as an auxiliary nurse midwife after completing this course.
